Barry Hall Offered 2 Week Suspension

Sydney Swan bad boy Barry Hall has been offered a 2 week suspension by the Match Review Panel for his strike on Ben Rutten in the Swans loss to Adelaide on Saturday.

SYDNEY Swans forward Barry Hall has been offered a two-match suspension by the match review panel for his strike on Adelaide defender Ben Rutten last Saturday.

Hall can accept a two-week ban for his actions, which were assessed as intentional, of low impact, and of high contact.

His offence drew a total of 225 demerit points, which was increased to 395 after the panel took into consideration his total of eight matches suspended within the last three years and his 57.50 carry-over points.

An early guilty plea will see the burly forward suspended for just a fortnight, however, with a 25 per cent acceptance reduction reducing his points to 296.25.

If Hall and the Swans choose to accept the punishment, he will be skating very close to another suspension as he will carry 96.25 points for the next 12 months.

Hall will miss the Swans’ SCG clashes with North Melbourne and Essendon over the next two weeks if he takes the punishment.

You would have to think the Swans would be pretty quick to accept this as many speculated that the ban could be alot greater than just 2 weeks and considering he faces the risk of a 3 week ban should he unsuccessfully challenge the suspension.

Do you think Hall should accept the 2 weeks? Do you think he was lucky? Leave us with your thoughts.
