Barry Hall returns from suspension and Roos isn’t pleased with speculation!
As we expected, Barry Hall has been named for this weekends match and thus the indefinite suspension lifted. I have already talked at length about Hall’s actions, his subsequent suspension and even his early return, so I will spare you my thoughts for the most part and just give you the news:
Sydney spearhead Barry Hall was recalled to the Swans side for Saturday’s AFL clash with Adelaide, with coach Paul Roos predicting the Crows would tag-team the volatile star.
Hall was reinstated to the side after missing the past two games when the Swans voluntarily stood him down for attempting to strike Collingwood’s defender Shane Wakelin.
This comes after Hall was cleared by by the club’s sports psychologist, Grant Brecht. Coach Paul Roos is not happy with speculation that Hall has only been called up to play due to injuries Sydney are facing in their forward line: …
SWANS coach Paul Roos has bristled at the suggestion that Barry Hall’s return on Saturday night is due only to his forward line being undermanned for the Crows clash.
Michael O’Loughlin’s ankle injury means Hall is a timely addition to the Swans forward structure, but Roos said his spearhead would have returned in any case after feedback from club psychologist Grant Brecht, who’s been overseeing Hall’s recovery.
“I was thinking about this last night and I thought that’d come up. If people think that … in a way they’re calling me a liar. It’s a bit of a slur on my character,” Roos said on Thursday evening.
“I really don’t like that. We’ve been pretty open and honest about it (Hall’s recovery) the whole way through.
“So people who don’t believe what I’ve said are questioning the integrity of myself and the integrity of the footy club. It’s disappointing.”
Well Paul Roos, I for one think you are lying, and I am not the only one. Deal with it.
