Daniel Kerr in Doubt - How Convenient

July 9, 2008 by Stewart Brown

The Herald Sun newspaper today reported that West Coast Eagles star Daniel Kerr is in doubt for this weeks clash with Richmond………………………………

WEST Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr is in serious doubt for Sunday’s clash against Richmond following a run of misfortune. Kerr, who is battling a niggling knee injury, is still feeling the effects of a stingray attack suffered on June 28 during the side’s recovery session at St Kilda Sea Baths.
The sting to his ankle not only left him in pain but it has also restricted the 25-year-old at training.

Kerr has also been struck down with a virus this week, leaving Eagles coach John Worsfold unsure whether his star charge would be available for the Tigers clash.

Whilst these might be legitimate reasons for Kerr to miss the game, one has to question the mindset of the Eagles in the second half of the season with regard to really wanting to win games. Winning games won’t help them in the quest to acquire either Nick Naitanui or Daniel Rich in Novembers National Draft and this week’s game against Richmond at Subiaco is one that they would rate a big chance of winning, especially since Richmond may be without Matthew Richardson amongst others. This is not the first time this year Kerr is likely to miss a winnable game as he missed West Coasts loss to Essendon in Round 12 despite saying he was right to play in an interview before the game.

Do you think the Eagles are tanking? If you are an Eagles fan do you want them to tank or not? Please leave us with your thoughts

Definitely tanking. Worsfold is a f@#king disgrace.

  2. Knows how to win flags but!

Maybe they just don’t want waste Kerrs legs during a year when they are headed for a bottom four finish. It isn’t like Kerr hasn’t always struggled a bit with injuries, if you want to stretch out his playing career it is probably a good idea.

  4. I agree Jacko - what is the incentive to play him? There’s more incentive not to play him!

I’m all for the Eagles tanking - I can see the bigger picture!

Woosha knows what he is doing
