Eliminate Or Be Eliminated - Round 15

Week 3 of this column, and to be honest, anything more than this is just gravy. To reach the last 256 is a giant surprise no doubt, but after a big 2197 earnt me a comfortable win last week, and having no injuries (touch wood) this week has me somewhat confident I can put in another good showing and try and sneak into the last 128.

Notching up the 45th highest score in Eliminator last week got my team Pay The Rent a matchup against a lower ranked team from last week - unfortunately lower means the 349th ranked Breadavich (I’m ranked 721st).

5 Reasons why Breadavich is going to put a fork in me (and this column):

1. He has Chad ‘Peanut Head’ Cornes who has made a miraculous recovery from broken fingers, hands, torn ACLs and a bruised voice box from his phone call to Will Minson last week. Of course, I traded the big gorilla out last week. No doubt he will notch up about 160 against the enigmatic Kangaroos.

2. He has Dane Swan - the first opponent I’ve run into to have one of my trump cards.

3. His backline looks stronger than mine - Cornes, Milburn, Gram and Mattner against my group of Mackie, McMahon, Ellis and Urquhart. We both have Birchall, Osborne and Heath Shaw.

4. I’m taking the time to write this up which is as good a reason as any why I will lose. Also, I’m due to run into a big score.

5. Ok I could only think of 4. Maybe I’m not done with yet.

5 Reasons why I’m going to wipe the floor with another piece of trash on my way to the 5 grand (aka it’s time for Breadavich to Pay The Rent):

1. I have Gary Ablett Jr. He doesn’t. Dont you dare play him solely as a forward Bomber.

2. He has Richo. If he doesn’t trade him he’ll have to play Tippett or McKinley. Hahaha.

3. He has Ibbotson (v my Palmer) and then Salopek (not even playing) through the midfield. So on comes either Bird or Valenti. Ouch.

4. Did I mention I have Gazza and he doesn’t?

5. I have BUDDDDDY, Didak, Bock Bock Bocky and Matty Stokes against the Porpoise, The Bird Man, Gia and one of his bench. Although if he trades Richo for someone like BUDDDDY it might be closer.

So get around me, grab a bit of jumper and get me through to Round 16. Otherwise, next week’s column will be a gravely boring wrap of the WHOOPING I gave to fellow DieHard JP.
