Eliminate Or Be Eliminated…feeling the Big Cox-equence!

June 25, 2009 by Jesse Penfold

I am back!  And much to the excitement of my one fan who so anxiously emailed in awaiting this weeks update (good work Petie Gill) I won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

Lasts weeks matchup with Sreesanth Gold turned into a slobbernocker that came down to Sunday’s twighlight match,.  But in the end Gold’s luck couldn’t hold out as the the talent rose to the top, a quick thanks to Enight (103), Stevie J (130) and the GABLETT who stunk it up as Gold’s captain en route to a season low 76.

Next up in my path to glory are the so called BoneCrushers (2,045 last week, ranked 596th in the eliminator, 1951 ave this year), matching up against my star studded Kardiac Kids (2,101 last week, ranked 404 in the eliminator, 2014 ave this year).

Now it appears to me with their 5,861st overall ranking on the season, the only real BoneCrushing that has been done by the Crushers this year is that of the Big Cox, who has finally succumbed to his 34 week battle with injuries. Why is this crucial?  Well both myself and the Crushers share the ruck lineup of Coxy and Kruezer, with no cover on the bench.  This means we both have to make the decision whether to bring in a rubber substitute for the Cox, or hang tough and hope to get a jab next week.

Beyond the confusion in the ruck, once again I will take solid advantage through the back line as Tarks will matchup with Gilbert, while Mackie and Fisher should feast on the likes of Hill and Suban (note that I have done my dash with Geary who could either be kicked the curb in a last second before lockout frenzied trade, or will be relegated to the bench for Broughton…also note that the Crushers are carrying an injured Josh Drummond which only bolsters advantage up back).

Up forward it doesn’t get much better for the Crushers.  Serving up a shit sandwhich that will see Nahas, McGlynn and my new favourite player Brad Dick (thief of Pinball Parker’s body from Con Air), which will be absolutely decimated by the likes of Didak (upgrade of the year so far), Stevie J and Bud-Wood (who has laid nothing but fucking wood so far this year, being benched for Taylor Walker might put a stop to his binge…ahh…eating?).

The real challenge will be through the middle.  Here the Crushers come to life boasting the likes of Swan, Bartel, Selwood, Cross, Sewell and Rich.  This lineup makes for the a rare entertainment in DT with several alterantive players meeting head on, specifically Swan vs Montagna, Selwood vs Gibbs (battle of the 2006 draft picks), Cross vs Mitchell (hopefull last week was an abberation from Cross) and Sewell vs Muston (not good for me).

The weeks EL-CAP-I-TAN match up could really decide things this week, as we all know I will be going with my boyee MONTAG, while I would assume the Crushers will lock in the flying Swan.

All in all there is a clear advantage to me, and as you can probably tell after last week I have my swagger back and will go out on the limb saying this will be a big win for the Kids…and for the Crushers it will be back to the bone yard baby.

See ya next week!
