Jordan Roughead - 2008 AFL Draftee Profile
Before I say anything, yes he is. Jordan Roughead is related to Hawthorn forward and former number 1 draft pick Jarryd Roughead, he is his cousin. Like his cousin, Jordan has a fair bit of size about him. His natural position in the Under 18 competition has been in the ruck but he has also shown the ability to play as a key forward - something that makes him a valuable commodity.

For a big man Jordan Roughead is quite athletic, possessing a good leap. His around the ground work is improving all the time and he is learning to run to the right spots such as pushing back in defence and filling in space a kick behind the play. His pace is nothing to write home about but it doesn’t put him at a huge disadvantage against the majority of other ruckmen.
Like many other high draft picks in the last few years Roughead has a basketball background. He is still quite raw in a sense and the club that picks him up will definitely see him as a work in progress and someone who will improve with a few more years of senior football under his belt.
Roughead had a strong season for the North Ballarat Rebels which earnt him a spot in the Victorian Country team for the National Under 18 Championships. He was than earmarked as the best young ruckman in Victoria by being selected in the Victorian Under 18 team.

Have heard good things about him and McKernaham (spelling??) and this imo Nollsy is what Essendon should go after to back up Hille as Laycock is so lazy and a hack.
